Today, there is an organization known as the earth day organization which “collaborates with more than 17,000 partners and organizations in 174 countries”). According to History.com, “more than 1 billion people are involved in Earth Day activities, making it the largest secular civic event in the world.” . By the early 21st century, Earth Day’s many activities included raising awareness about a number of growing environmental concerns, especially the threat of global warming and the need for clean renewable energy sources.. The holiday is now a global celebration that can also be extended to a week, also known as Earth Week, a full seven days of events on green living.
