Mountain lion diets typically consist of deer, coyotes, racoon and elk. They are a primary consumer, due to their distinctive hunting abilities. They can run up to 50 mph and keep a steady rate of 10 mph for miles at a time. Not only are they vertically talented, but they also have the ability to jump 15 feet straight up into the air. This is what places these carnivores at the top of the food chain.
